Brighter Futures is a service user led and organised group supporting anyone experiencing emotional and mental distress.
We provide a friendly environment where you can come along and feel part of a community.

Location and Contact Details
As an organisation we are proud to be entirely run and delivered by people with lived experience of mental health issues. As such, we have a good idea and direct experience of the challenges that are faced by people with mental health issues. Of course, we understand that everyone is different and we will always listen without judging. At the end of the day, we offer practical support and assistance wrapped up in some much needed companionship and fun.
Under ‘normal’ circumstances we organise twice weekly-meet ups in local cafes, something we are all really looking forward to getting back to when Covid restrictions allow. Under Covid restrictions we have continued to meet-up every week through Zoom though we are gradually increasing opportunities to meet face to face.
Our meet-ups emphasise the support that comes with the development of friendships which flourish in safe and trusting spaces, something that we are proud of maintaining.

In addition to the weekly meet-ups we also run creative art groups and currently have a Zoom based art group that meets every Wednesday, 5 – 6:30pm called the ‘Creative Doodle Book’.
We also organise day trips to local and more distant attractions and have been to the coast many times as well as having had trips down to London and up to Edinburgh. We also try to organise an annual holiday for members of the group to really get away from it all!
Life can be tough enough without experiencing emotional distress and mental health issues so we try and make whatever we do and however we support each other fun. If you would like to find out more, please get in touch.
