Horton Housing

Horton Housing is a voluntary sector, not for profit organisation. At Horton we aim to meet the housing and support needs of some of the most socially excluded and vulnerable people in our community. To achieve this we have developed a range of services to offer both quality and choice.

  • Selby STAY – a housing related support service for vulnerable people (16+) who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Support is delivered via floating support and via Drop-Ins across the District
  • STAY Well – housing related support for people with low level mental health issues living in the Selby District of North Yorkshire
  • Horton Wellbeing Cafes – a series of wellbeing cafés, across the Selby District of North Yorkshire. The cafes run regularly in Selby Town, Sherburn, Tadcaster, Riccall and Eggborough.  The cafes are aimed at anyone, aged 18 and over, who has mental health issues or concerns, as well as family members and carers of anyone with mental health issues or concerns. The cafés include a range of provision including:

    –  Information, advice and signposting

    –  Practical support and brief interventions

    –  Support with self-care and life skills

    –  Social and peer support

We also offer regular Drop-Ins throughout the Selby District, open to anyone requiring One-Off Support.

Our Selby Drop-In is every Wednesday 1.00pm – 3.00pm at Community House.

Our Sherburn in Elmet Drop-In is every Tuesday 10am-12pm at Sherburn Library

Our Tadcaster Drop-In is every Tuesday 1.00pm-3.00pm at Manor Farm Youth Centre, Tadcaster

Selby – STAY

STAY is a floating support service for single people, couples and families living in the Selby area, who need housing related support to maximise and sustain their independence in the community. STAY is a home based service, which means support workers visit people in their own home. We also offer a series of drop-ins throughout the District.

STAY is for people who meet the following criteria:
Aged 18 or over and living in the Selby District of North Yorkshire.
Vulnerable and in need of housing related support to enable you to move towards or continue in independent living. (You may be vulnerable as a result of age, mental illness, substance misuse, family breakdown or another factor that is affecting your ability to maintain your accommodation)

The service is free and accepts referrals from any source, including statutory and voluntary organisations and self referrals.

Selby – STAY Well

STAY Well is a floating support service for people with mental health issues living in the Selby District of North Yorkshire, who need housing related support to maximise and sustain their independence in the community, and to achieve their rehabilitation and recovery goals. STAY Well is a home based service, which means support workers visit people in their own home. We also offer a series of drop-ins throughout the District.

STAY Well is for people who meet the following criteria:

  • Aged 18 or over and living in the Selby District of North Yorkshire
  • Have low level mental health issues
  • Need of housing related support in order to move towards or continue independent living

STAY Well can support single people, couples and families, with or without children. The service is free and accepts referrals from any source, including statutory and voluntary organisations and self referrals. If you would like more information about the service or to make a referral please ring us on 01757 241051.
