North Yorkshire Advocacy
North Yorkshire Advocacy is Free, Confidential and Independent.
We provide generic advocacy support to anyone over the age of 18 who is disabled, disadvantaged or vulnerable.
Advocacy is taking action to help people say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and obtain services they need. Advocates work in partnership with the people they support and take their side; we promote social inclusion, equality and social justice.
There are moments in our lives where we find ourselves needing support, an Advocate will:
- Listen to you
- Help ensure your voice is heard
- Help you access services you may need
- Help to secure your rights
- Help you find information
- Help you make informed choices
- Represent your interests
- Liaise with professionals

We will help support people to de-complicate their finances ensuring bank accounts are set up and easiest payment methods suited to the client arranged for utility bills etc. We will sign post to other professional agencies for any unmanageable debt issues there may be.
